Cast your vote!

We've narrowed down all of your feedback about the date for the reunion to four possible dates. You can find the poll at the top of the right-hand column of the blog. Make sure to vote for the one you like best as soon as possible!

When we've settled on a date, it won't be more than another week or two before we decide on a location as well.

Don't forget to write a quick update about you/your family for the class blog! We'd love to hear what you're up to! Send anything you'd like to share to madisonhigh2005@gmail.com.

One week later . . .

Hey everybody!

We're one week in with the Facebook group and class blog. So far over a third of the class has joined the Facebook group, with 52 more people invited. The blog has had visits from 4 countries, 12 states, and 31 cities. That's pretty impressive for one week, but there's still quite a few people we'd like to reach out to.

A few things each of you can do to help connect everyone we graduated with:

1. Invite all of your Facebook friends from MHS to join the Facebook group.
2. Put a link to the class blog on your personal blog.
3. E-mail the link for the class blog to anybody else you're in touch with that we graduated with.

In the coming weeks, keep an eye on the blog for polls about the date and location of the reunion, and don't forget to send in an update about you/your family! So far we've only received updates from 7 people. We'd love to hear from the rest of you!

Sam and Stacy (MacCabe) Robbins

Our updates are also joint.

Sam and Stacy sort of dated the summer after high school - but mostly spent time together as best friends. Stacy's family moved to Utah in August after graduation but she stayed in Rexburg and started college at BYU - I. He left on his mission to Africa (Zimbabwe and Zambia) in October of 05. We kept in touch as friends. We started officially dating in December of 07 after he got back. We got engaged less than a month later. We were married in the Rexburg temple May 3, 2008. That summer we lived in Utah and both worked for Provo School District - Sam worked for the Transportation department driving school bus for summer school and he also worked helping set up a new elementary school - Stacy worked for Tech Support - her summer job since graduation.

We moved back to Rexburg to go to school after that - and we are still in Rexburg hoping to someday finish school. Stacy will graduate in April 2010 with a degree in Art with an emphasis in Photography with clusters in English literature and Visual Media (Communications). Sam should finish April of 2011 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Sam currently works for Madison School District driving school bus (a job he truly loves). On October 10, 2009 we welcomed Caleb Thomas to our family.

This summer Sam hopes to have an internship  - perhaps in Utah. Stacy will probably be staying at home with Caleb and working photo jobs on the side.

We have a blog - but it is private. If you want to follow our blog send an email to tastyjane@gmail.com and we'll pass along an invitation.

Blake and Anjanette (Harrell) Riley

This is another joint post. We started dating during our Junior year Commencement dance and continued dating through high school. After graduation, Anjanette planned on attending Texas A&M to study marine biology while Blake headed to Arizona State University for an economics degree. Due to administrative mix-ups about housing and financial aid, Anjanette decided against Texas and also moved to Arizona. On our second anniversary, Blake proposed and we were married later that summer on August 12, 2006. Anjanette also started her bachelor's degree at ASU that fall.

Our last two years at ASU, we ended up heavily involved in the Arizona government through our jobs. Blake worked for the state legislature's budget committee, doing research and acting as a liaison between the legislators and a couple state agencies. Anjanette did an internship with the Secretary of State, and then worked for the Arizona Capitol Times, a newspaper that covers state politics. She reported on healthcare and transportation, with numerous front-page stories to her name.

This May, we graduated from ASU. Anjanette finished in three years with degrees in English and political science, and Blake received a BA in economics and a BS in mathematics. We since moved to Champaign, IL where we are doing our graduate work. Blake is in the economics PhD program at the University of Illinois here in Champaign with plans to become an economics professor. Anjanette is working towards an English MA with a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language at Illinois State. Champaign has much more of a small-town feel than the Phoenix area, and we are being subjected to winter cold for the first time in four years, but we like it nonetheless. We spend most of our free time reading: her with a novel and him with a math text.

Our plans for this coming summer are still up in the air; Anjanette might be out of the country teaching English. But, either way, feel free to follow us at http://anjanetteandblake.wordpress.com.

Stoddard and Ellen (Tew) Davenport

We'll get things started here! This post counts for both of us, since we got married.

We started dating right after high school graduation. We had an awesome summer of dating, waterskiing, and working. I was the store manager at the old Craigo's, and Ellen started school at BYU-Idaho. In February 2006, I left for a mission to Boston, Massachusetts (same mission as Jason Andrus, good times!) Ellen started working at Rexburg City Hall during her junior year, while going to school year round. When I got back from Boston, I worked for Craigo's again, and commuted down to Pocatello and back everyday to help get their new store up and running. A few months later, in July 2008, Ellen graduated with her degree in Political Science, with a minor in Sociology.

In August, we got married, went on a honeymoon to Portland and the Oregon coast, and moved to Boise. I started school at Boise State, majoring in Economics, with minors in Applied Math and Political Science. Last semester, Ellen decided to go back to school for a Paralegal certificate and a second bachelor's degree in Sociology. She's just got one or two semesters left, and I've got three more. I just started work as a tax preparer, which should keep me plenty busy until April.

We're enjoying living in Boise, although we rarely get to see any of our old friends from Rexburg anymore. Everytime we come back for a visit, we're surprised how much colder and snowier it is in Rexburg! The weather's nice and mild here. We enjoy taking day trips to see the sights around this side of the state, and this last year we've seen quite a few ghost towns, national parks, and wild animals.

Our family blog is set to private, but we're happy to invite any of you who are interested in seeing a little more of what we've been up to.
